Terms and Conditions
At Austins we keep everything simple. So we ask guests to respect our few simple terms and conditions.
Cancellation Policies: Cancellations made up to 48 hours prior to arrival date will be Free of Charge in most cases. Discounted rates may be offered subject to no cancellation. The full amount would be payable and non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. Cancellations received within the 48 hours period we reserve the right to charge the cost of the 1st night stay. For No-shows we reserve the right to charge the full amount for the booking. Major Concert and Sporting events in Cardiff require a minimum 14 days’ notice of cancellation.
Check-in / Check –out Times: Check-in is available from 1.00 pm until 9.00 pm. This is our latest check-in time – we do not have a night porter. Earlier check-in is possible but please arrange this prior to arrival. On arrival you will be issued with a room key and a front door key so return to the guesthouse is possible at any time. We ask you to respect other guests and to be quiet when returning late at night. Latest Check-out is 10.30 am
Car Parking: We have limited free parking available with a permit on the street outside. Permits are issued on a first come basis. A £20 cash deposit is required for the use of a permit. This is refunded when the permit is returned on check-out. We have a small secure car park at the rear of the guesthouse. The closest public car park is at Sophia Gardens, a 10 minutes’ walk. We advise customers not to leave any items of value in their cars. Car crime is a problem in all major cities, so don’t give thieves the opportunity to spoil your stay in our beautiful city.
Children: We welcome all children of any age accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children 12 years or younger sharing a parents room will not be charged. Children over the age of 12 will be charged the adult rate.
Deposits: We do not normally charge a deposit but we do require a credit or debit card to secure a reservation. This card is NOT charged in advance. However for all major Concert and Sporting events we do ask for a deposit equal to the cost of the 1st night payable 1 month prior to arrival.
Disabilities: We endeavour to meet our obligations under the Disability Rights Legislation. Employees are trained and ready to help where and when they can and are trained to carry out and assist in emergency evacuation. We do not have specially adapted facilities but we do have ground floor rooms available. A full description of access can be found in our Access Statement.
Fire Safety: Our buildings and all our rooms are fitted with the latest smoke and heat detection devices. Alarms are tested weekly and at times to cause least disturbance to our guests. Any person found tampering with any of the Fire Safety Equipment will be asked to leave immediately and will be charged the full cost of the reservation plus the cost of any damage caused to the equipment which will include the call out charges. We take Fire Safety very seriously at Austins and will not tolerate any misdemeanours.
Loss or Damage: Following check-out an inventory of rooms will be carried out. Any damages to the hotel or items mistakenly taken will be charged to your card at the replacement or repair cost or professionally clean costs. Lost Keys will be subject to a £15.00 replacement fee.
Non-Smoking: It is against the Law to smoke in our premises. We are a strictly Non-Smoking indoors Hotel. All rooms are fitted with sensitive smoke detectors smoking will activate the alarm systems. Any person found to be smoking indoors will again be asked to leave and subject to the full cost of the reservation.
Pet Friendly: We are Pet Friendly. Well behaved dogs are welcome to share the room with responsible owners. Where no additional cleaning is required there will be no charge, so they stay free.
Parties: We are a small, friendly and quiet guesthouse and the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests is important to us. Therefore we respectfully decline to accept any Hen or Stag parties in either of our premises.
Payments: We accept payments with Cash Stirling and most major Credit Cards including Visa MasterCard American Express and Debit Cards. Personal and Company cheques accepted by prior arrangement and subject to normal clearance times.
